Every wedding has its own priorities, personalities, and unexpected moments.
Some couples want to feel completely at ease in front of the camera. Others want photographs that allow them to stay present with the people they love.
Some celebrate in the quiet beauty of the Adirondacks. Others exchange vows overlooking Lake George or gather with family and friends at a Capital Region country club.
These stories are more than a collection of favorite photographs. They show what it actually feels like to work together—from our first conversation through the final images—and how thoughtful preparation, gentle guidance, and documentary storytelling come together throughout a real wedding day.
April and Tony
An intentional wedding day built around being present.
Every couple has a different vision for their wedding day. For April and Tony, it wasn’t about creating dozens of elaborate photographs or rushing from one location to another. They wanted a day that felt calm, meaningful, and true to who they are.
In the weeks leading up to the wedding, we talked about what mattered most to them. They wanted natural photographs that reflected genuine emotion rather than forced poses. They wanted time together, space to enjoy the day, and confidence that the photography would support the experience rather than interrupt it.

One moment became especially important during those conversations.
Rather than seeing each other before the ceremony, they chose to share a quiet first touch. Standing just out of sight, they held hands, exchanged a few words, and took a moment to steady themselves before everything began. It allowed them to connect emotionally while preserving the anticipation of seeing one another walk down the aisle.
The forecast called for rain throughout the morning, and like many couples, they wondered how it might affect their plans. As the ceremony approached, the clouds began to soften, giving us the opportunity to explore the grounds together. We moved naturally between the pond, the rock bridge, and the waterfall, allowing the beautiful setting to complement their story without ever feeling staged.

As the evening unfolded, the celebration became exactly what they had hoped it would be—relaxed, joyful, and centered on the people they love. The dance floor remained full well into the night, providing opportunities to preserve both the quiet moments and the energy of the celebration.
Looking back, what stands out most isn’t simply the locations or the portraits. It’s the feeling of the day itself—a wedding where thoughtful preparation created the freedom to be fully present, and where the photographs became a natural reflection of that experience.

Adela and Bryan
A wedding where the connection spoke for itself.
Every couple brings something different to their wedding day. Some need reassurance in front of the camera. Others appreciate a little more direction during portraits. From the moment I met Adela and Bryan, it was clear that their greatest strength was simply being together.
Set against the early autumn beauty of Lake George, their wedding day unfolded with the kind of effortless rhythm photographers always hope for. The skies were clear, the Adirondack mountains were beginning to show the first hints of fall color, and the lake reflected the calm that seemed to define the entire day.

During our planning conversations, we talked about creating photographs that felt genuine rather than posed. My role wasn’t to choreograph every moment but to create opportunities for them to relax, connect, and simply enjoy being together. With only gentle guidance, they naturally settled into each moment, allowing authentic expressions and quiet interactions to become the photographs that mattered most.
Their first look overlooking the lake was one of those moments. It wasn’t dramatic because it needed to be—it was meaningful because it reflected who they are. Throughout the day, there were countless small glances, smiles, and conversations that reminded everyone present why they had chosen one another.

The ceremony, framed by the water and surrounding mountains, provided a breathtaking setting, but it never competed with the people at its center. As daylight softened into evening, the celebration shifted naturally from quiet emotion to joyful celebration. Their first dance, surrounded by family and friends, marked the beginning of an evening filled with laughter, conversation, and a dance floor that stayed busy well into the night.
Looking back at their photographs, what stands out isn’t simply the beauty of Lake George. It’s the ease with which Adela and Bryan experienced the day together. The images preserve more than the scenery—they preserve a relationship that never needed to be manufactured for the camera, only noticed.

Megan and Michael
When an unexpected ending became part of the story.
Some wedding days unfold exactly as planned. Others remind us that the moments we remember most are often the ones no one could have predicted.
Megan and Michael were married in the Adirondacks, surrounded by everything that makes the region so special—a rustic barn, quiet lakes, winding country roads, and the relaxed pace that encourages people to slow down and simply enjoy being together. From the beginning, they wanted their wedding to reflect that atmosphere: welcoming, unhurried, and focused on celebrating with the people they love.

Throughout the day, we explored the property together, creating portraits along wooded paths, beside the lake, and around the barn that anchored the celebration. The landscape became a natural part of their story, providing beautiful settings without ever distracting from the relationship at the center of the photographs. Rather than rushing from one location to the next, we allowed the day to unfold naturally, creating images that felt authentic to both the place and the couple.
The weather forecast had been uncertain, but the rain held off through the ceremony, portraits, and reception. It seemed as though the day might end exactly as planned.
Then came the bubble exit.

As Megan and Michael stepped outside, surrounded by cheering family and friends, the first raindrops began to fall. Guests laughed as umbrellas quickly appeared, bubbles floated through the air, and what could have felt like a disappointment instantly became one of the most joyful moments of the entire celebration.
Those photographs have become some of my favorites—not because everything went perfectly, but because everyone embraced the unexpected together. They capture something deeper than beautiful weather or carefully planned portraits. They preserve the spirit of a couple who chose to celebrate the moment they were in rather than the one they had imagined.
Looking back, the rain wasn’t the ending anyone expected. It was the ending that made the story uniquely theirs.
